पट्टिशेन शिताग्रेण प्रघसः प्रत्ययोधयत् ।
भासकर्णश्च शूलेन राक्षसः कपिसत्तमम् ।

Paṭṭiśena śitāgreṇa praghasaḥ pratyayodhayat । Bhāsakarṇaśca śūlena rākṣasaḥ kapisattamam । । 5.46.33।। ॥5-46-33॥
Translation
Praghasa fought against the best of monkeys with a sharp-edged Pattisha (a kind of spear or axe), and the Rakshasa Bhasakarna fought with a Shula (spear).

प्रघस ने तीक्ष्ण धार वाले पट्टिश से और राक्षस भासकर्ण ने शूल से कपिश्रेष्ठ हनुमान के साथ युद्ध किया।
English Commentary
The verse details the specific weaponry employed by the remaining generals in a coordinated attack. Praghasa uses a Pattisha with a sharp tip, a weapon designed for piercing and cutting, while Bhasakarna uses a heavy Shula (spear or trident). The simultaneous use of different weapons suggests a tactical attempt to overwhelm Hanuman from different angles and ranges. Despite being unarmed in the conventional sense, Hanuman is styled as kapisattamam (the best of monkeys), implying that his physical prowess and strategic mind are superior to the manufactured weapons of the demons.

इस श्लोक में द्वंद्व युद्ध के अस्त्रों का विवरण है। प्रघस 'पट्टिश' (एक प्रकार का तीखा भाला या फरसा) का प्रयोग कर रहा है, जिसका अग्रभाग अत्यंत पैना ('शिताग्रेण') है। वहीं, भासकर्ण 'शूल' का प्रयोग कर रहा है। दोनों ओर से हो रहे इस सशस्त्र प्रहार का उद्देश्य हनुमान जी को घेरकर घायल करना था। यहाँ हनुमान जी को 'कपिसत्तमम्' (वानरों में श्रेष्ठ) कहा गया है, जो यह सूचित करता है कि वे इन दिव्य और घातक अस्त्रों का सामना करने में पूर्णतः सक्षम हैं। यह दृश्य एक विषम युद्ध का है जहाँ दो महारथी अस्त्र-शस्त्रों के साथ एक निहत्थे वानर पर प्रहार कर रहे हैं।
