तैरवश्यं विधातव्यं व्यलीकं किंचिदेव नः ।
तदेव नात्र सन्देहः प्रसह्य परिगृह्यताम् ।
।
॥५-४६-८॥
Tairavaśyaṃ vidhātavyaṃ vyalīkaṃ kiñcideva naḥ । Tadeva nātra sandehaḥ prasahya parigṛhyatām । । ॥5-46-8॥
Translation
Surely, some mischief/deceit has been created against us by them (the defeated Devas). There is no doubt about it; therefore, let him be captured forcibly.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(जिन देवताओं आदि को हमने हराया है) उन्होंने निश्चय ही हमारे साथ कोई छल (कपट) किया है। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है, अतः इसे (वानर को) बलपूर्वक पकड़ लिया जाए।
English Commentary
Ravana's paranoia is evident here. He connects the sudden appearance of this invincible monkey to his past enemies mentioned in the previous verse. He deduces that this is vyalikam—a trick or counter-offensive engineered by the Devas he humiliated. Consequently, his order shifts from mere elimination to capture (parigrihyatam). He wants to interrogate the 'weapon' sent against him. The use of prasahya (forcibly/violently) indicates that he expects resistance and authorizes extreme force to subdue Hanuman, but the ultimate goal is containment to uncover the root of this 'divine mischief.'

रावण को संदेह है कि हनुमान कोई साधारण वानर नहीं, बल्कि देवताओं द्वारा रचा गया कोई षड्यंत्र या माया है। 'व्यलीकं' शब्द का अर्थ है छल, अप्रिय कार्य या कपट। रावण का मानना है कि पराजित देवताओं ने प्रतिशोध लेने के लिए इस वानर को माध्यम बनाया है। इसलिए वह 'प्रसह्य' (बलपूर्वक) और 'परिगृह्यताम्' (पकड़ो) का आदेश देता है। वह हनुमान को मारकर समाप्त करने की अपेक्षा उसे जीवित पकड़ना चाहता है ताकि इस रहस्य का भेदन कर सके कि वास्तव में इस वानर के पीछे कौन सी शक्ति कार्य कर रही है। यह रावण की राजनीतिक और गुप्तचर दृष्टि को दर्शाता है।
