Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पराक्रमोत्साहविवृद्धमानसः समीक्षते मां प्रमुखागतः स्थितः ।
पराक्रमो ह्यस्य मनांसि कम्पयेत् सुरासुराणामपि शीघ्रगामिनः ॥ ॥५-४७-२८॥
Parākramotsāhavivṛddhamānasaḥ samīkṣate māṃ pramukhāgataḥ sthitaḥ । Parākramo hyasya manāṃsi kampayet surāsurāṇāmapi śīghragāminaḥ । । ॥5-47-28॥
Translation
With his spirit heightened by valor and enthusiasm, he stands directly before me, gazing at me (fearlessly). Indeed, the prowess of this swift-moving warrior could shake the minds of even the Devas and Asuras.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पराक्रम और उत्साह से बढ़े हुए मनोबल वाला यह (अक्षकुमार) मेरे सामने खड़ा होकर मुझे (निर्भयता से) देख रहा है। इस शीघ्रगामी वीर का पराक्रम तो देवताओं और असुरों के मन को भी कम्पित कर सकता है।
English Commentary
Hanuman here acts as an objective observer of martial prowess, acknowledging the escalating morale ('vivṛddhamānasaḥ') of his adversary. The use of 'samīkṣate' implies that Aksha is not merely attacking blindly but is evaluating Hanuman with the composure of a seasoned warrior. Hanuman acknowledges that Aksha’s swiftness and valor are sufficient to unsettle even celestial beings. This establishes Aksha as a formidable foe, justifying the extreme measures Hanuman is about to take.

यहाँ हनुमान जी शत्रु के गुणों का यथार्थ मूल्यांकन कर रहे हैं। अक्षकुमार केवल एक राक्षस नहीं, बल्कि एक सच्चा योद्धा है जिसका मनोबल ('विवृद्धमानसः') युद्ध की तीव्रता के साथ बढ़ रहा है। वाल्मीकि जी ने यहाँ 'समीक्षते' शब्द का प्रयोग किया है, जो दर्शाता है कि अक्षकुमार हनुमान जी का विश्लेषण कर रहा है, न कि केवल क्रोध में आक्रमण। हनुमान जी स्वीकार करते हैं कि यदि यह युद्ध जारी रहा, तो अक्षकुमार देवताओं के लिए भी संकट बन सकता है। यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की निष्पक्ष दृष्टि और अक्षकुमार की वीरता को स्थापित करता है।
