Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः कपिस्तं विचरन्तमम्बरे पतत्त्रिराजानिलसिद्धसेविते ।
समेत्य तं मारुततुल्यविक्रमः क्रमेण जग्राह स पादयोर्दृढम् ॥ ॥५-४७-३४॥
Tataḥ kapistaṃ vicarantamambare patattrirājānilasiddhasevite । Sametya taṃ mārutatulyavikramaḥ krameṇa jagrāha sa pādayordṛḍham । ॥5-47-34॥
Translation
Then, the monkey of valor equal to the Wind, approaching him as he moved in the sky—a realm frequented by the King of Birds, the Wind, and Siddhas—seized him firmly by his feet with ease.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वायुतुल्य पराक्रमी हनुमान जी ने पक्षीराज (गरुड़), वायु और सिद्धों द्वारा सेवित आकाश में विचरते हुए उस (अक्ष) के पास जाकर, अनायास ही उसके दोनों पैरों को कसकर पकड़ लिया।
English Commentary
This captures the climax of the aerial duel. The sky is described as the domain of Garuda and the Wind, subtly reinforcing Hanuman’s dominance as the son of Vayu. The phrase 'Mārutatulyavikramaḥ' (valor equal to the Wind) is juxtaposed with his action of seizing Aksha. Catching the enemy by the feet ('pādayordṛḍham') is a decisive grappling move that renders the opponent's weapons (bow and sword mentioned earlier) useless and leaves him disoriented.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक 'हवाई युद्ध' (Dogfight) का क्लाइमेक्स है। आकाश गरुड़ और वायु का क्षेत्र है, और यहाँ हनुमान (वायुपुत्र) का वर्चस्व है। 'क्रमेण' (क्रम से/पैंतरे से) शब्द बताता है कि हनुमान जी ने उसे पकड़ने में भी तकनीक का प्रयोग किया। पैरों से पकड़ना शत्रु को पूरी तरह से असहाय बना देता है और यह अपमानजनक स्थिति भी है, जो राक्षस के मनोबल को तोड़ती है।
