स भग्नबाहूरुकटीशिरोधरः क्षरन्नसृङ्निर्मथितास्थिलोचनः ।
स भग्नसन्धिः प्रविकीर्णबन्धनो हतः क्षितौ वायुसुतेन राक्षसः ।
महाकपिर्भूमितले निपीड्य तं चकार रक्षोधिपतेर्महद्भयम् ॥ ॥५-४७-३६॥
Sa bhagnabāhūrukaṭīśirodharaḥ kṣarannasṛṅnirmathitāsthilocanaḥ । Sa bhagnasandhiḥ pravikīrṇabandhano hataḥ kṣitau vāyusutena rākṣasaḥ । Mahākapirbhūmitale nipīḍya taṃ cakāra rakṣodhipatermahadbhayam । ॥5-47-36॥
Translation
With his arms, thighs, waist, and neck broken, bleeding profusely, with bones and eyes crushed, joints dislocated and tendons torn, that demon was killed by the son of the Wind on the ground. By crushing him against the earth, the great monkey created immense fear for the Lord of Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस राक्षस की भुजाएँ, जंघाएँ, कमर और गर्दन टूट गई; खून बहने लगा; हड्डियाँ और आँखें चूर-चूर हो गईं; जोड़ उखड़ गए और नसें (बंधन) टूट गईं। वायुपुत्र द्वारा मारे गए उस राक्षस को महाकपि ने धरती पर पटककर (कुचलकर) राक्षसराज रावण के लिए महान भय उत्पन्न कर दिया।
English Commentary
The description depicts the brutal reality of the impact. The specificity of the injuries—broken spine, crushed eyes, torn tendons—serves a narrative purpose: to dismantle the image of the invincible Rakshasa royalty. The verse concludes with the strategic outcome of this brutality: creating 'great fear' (mahadbhayam) for Ravana. Hanuman effectively sends a message that even the elite of Lanka are fragile before him.

वाल्मीकि जी यहाँ वध का अत्यंत वीभत्स और यथार्थवादी चित्रण (Graphic description) करते हैं। यह 'रौद्र रस' और 'भयानक रस' का मिश्रण है। अक्षकुमार के शरीर का पूर्ण विध्वंस—हड्डियों और आँखों का चूर होना—रावण को संदेश देने के लिए था। अंतिम पंक्ति महत्वपूर्ण है: उद्देश्य केवल हत्या नहीं था, बल्कि 'रक्षोधिपतेर्महद्भयम्' (रावण के मन में भय उत्पन्न करना) था। यह मनोवैज्ञानिक युद्ध (Psychological warfare) है।
