ततस्तैः स्वगणैरिष्टैरिन्द्रजत् प्रतिपूजितः ।
युद्धोद्धतः कृतोत्साहः सग्रामं प्रत्यपद्यत ।

tatastaiḥ svagaṇairiṣṭairindrajit pratipūjitaḥ |
yuddhoddhataḥ kṛtotsāhaḥ saṃgrāmaṃ pratyapadyata ॥5-48-17॥
Translation
Thereafter, honoured by his own beloved troops, Indrajit, eager for battle and filled with enthusiasm, set out for the battlefield.

तदनन्तर, अपने प्रिय गणों (सैनिकों/अनुचरों) द्वारा पूजित (अभिनंदित) होकर, युद्ध के लिए उतावले और उत्साह से भरे हुए इंद्रजीत ने रणभूमि की ओर प्रस्थान किया।
English Commentary
This verse captures the atmosphere of a hero's send-off. Indrajit is not leaving in silence; he is 'pratipujita' (worshipped/honoured) by his loyal troops and followers. This public adulation highlights his status as the crown prince and the realm's defender. The terms 'yuddhoddhatah' (arrogant/eager for war) and 'krtotsahah' (enthusiastic) paint a picture of a warrior in his element. Unlike a reluctant soldier, Indrajit thrives on combat. His enthusiasm suggests supreme confidence in his ability to crush the monkey who has terrorized his city.

युद्ध पर जाते समय सेनापति का मनोबल और सैनिकों का समर्थन महत्वपूर्ण होता है। इंद्रजीत का उसके 'स्वगणैः' (अपने लोगों) द्वारा पूजन यह दर्शाता है कि वह राक्षसों के बीच अत्यंत लोकप्रिय नेता है। वे उसे अपनी आशा की किरण के रूप में देख रहे हैं। 'युद्धोद्धतः' (युद्ध के लिए उग्र/उतावला) शब्द उसके आक्रामक स्वभाव को दिखाता है। उसे भय नहीं है, बल्कि वह युद्ध के अवसर को लपकने के लिए उत्सुक है। यह हनुमान के लिए खतरे की घंटी है, क्योंकि अब उनका सामना एक ऐसे योद्धा से है जो केवल आज्ञा का पालन नहीं कर रहा, बल्कि जिसे युद्ध की लालसा है।
