स तस्य रथनिर्घोषं ज्यास्वनं कार्मुकस्य च ।
निशम्य हरिवीरो ऽसौ संप्रहृष्टतरो ऽभवत् ।

sa tasya rathanirghoṣaṃ jyāsvanaṃ kārmukasya ca |
niśamya harivīro 'sau saṃprahṛṣṭataro 'bhavat ॥5-48-21॥
Translation
Hearing the rattling sound of his chariot and the twang of his bowstring, that Monkey Hero (Hanuman) became even more delighted.

उसके रथ की घरघराहट (निर्घोष) और धनुष की प्रत्यंचा की टंकार (ज्यास्वन) को सुनकर, वह वानर वीर (हनुमान) अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुआ।
English Commentary
This implies the true heroic nature of Hanuman. Instead of feeling fear at the terrifying sounds of Indrajit's approaching chariot and the twang of his bow ('jyasvanam'), Hanuman becomes 'samprahrushtatara' (exceedingly delighted). This reaction signifies that Hanuman was yearning for a worthy challenge. Having easily dispatched the previous waves of soldiers, he finds the prospect of a duel with a high-caliber warrior exhilarating. It frames the coming battle as a clash of titans where both parties are eager participants.

यह श्लोक हनुमान के चरित्र की महानता को दर्शाता है। एक सामान्य योद्धा इतनी भयानक आवाज़ें सुनकर भयभीत हो सकता था, किन्तु हनुमान 'संप्रहृष्टतरो' (और भी अधिक प्रसन्न) हो गए। क्यों? क्योंकि अभी तक वे सामान्य राक्षसों से लड़कर ऊब चुके थे। उन्हें अब एक ऐसा प्रतिद्वंद्वी मिला है जो उनके स्तर का है। वीर पुरुष चुनौतियों का स्वागत उत्सव की तरह करते हैं। रथ और धनुष की टंकार हनुमान के लिए संगीत के समान है क्योंकि यह सच्चे युद्ध का आह्वान है।
