ततः शरानायतीक्ष्णशल्यान् सुपत्रिणः काञ्चनचित्रपुङ्खान् ।
मुमोच वीरः परवीरहन्ता सुसन्नतान् वज्रनिपातवेगान् ।

tataḥ śarānāyatīkṣṇaśalyān supatriṇaḥ kāñcanacitrapuṅkhān |
mumoca vīraḥ paravīrahantā susannatān vajranipātavegān ॥5-48-29॥
Translation
Then, that hero, the slayer of hostile heroes, released arrows with long sharp points, beautiful feathers, golden-decked shafts, going perfectly straight, and possessing the speed of a thunderbolt fall.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब शत्रु-वीरों का नाश करने वाले वीर (इंद्रजीत) ने लम्बी और तीखी नोक वाले, सुंदर पंखों वाले, सोने से जड़े हुए पिछले भाग (पुंख) वाले, और वज्र के समान वेग वाले सीधे जाने वाले बाण छोड़े।
English Commentary
The poet lavishly describes the weaponry to emphasize the lethal beauty of Indrajit's attack. The arrows are aristocratic ('golden-decked') yet deadly ('sharp points', 'speed of thunderbolt'). The comparison to 'Vajra' (Indra's thunderbolt) is ironic and fitting, as Indrajit is the conqueror of Indra. The arrows are 'susannatan' (perfectly straight), indicating the precision of his aim. This verse highlights that Indrajit is unleashing an unrelenting barrage of high-quality, high-velocity projectiles designed to intercept even the swift Hanuman.

इंद्रजीत के बाणों का विस्तृत वर्णन उसकी राजसी और योद्धा छवि को पुष्ट करता है। उसके बाण 'काञ्चनचित्रपुङ्खान्' (सोने से अलंकृत) हैं, जो बताते हैं कि वह एक राजकुमार है। लेकिन वे केवल सुंदर नहीं हैं, 'आयतीक्ष्णशल्यान्' (लम्बी तीखी नोक वाले) और 'वज्रनिपातवेगान्' (वज्र गिरने की गति वाले) भी हैं। इंद्रजीत 'परवीरहन्ता' (शत्रु वीरों को मारने वाला) है, इसलिए वह चूकता नहीं है। वह हनुमान की गति का मुकाबला करने के लिए अपनी सबसे तेज गति वाले बाणों का प्रयोग कर रहा है।
