शराणामन्तरेष्वाशु व्यवर्तत महाकपिः ।
हरिस्तस्याभिलक्ष्यस्य मोघयँल्लक्ष्यसंग्रहम् ।

śarāṇāmantareṣvāśu vyavartata mahākapiḥ |
haristasyābhilakṣyasya moghaya~llakṣyasaṃgraham ॥5-48-31॥
Translation
The Great Monkey maneuvered swiftly between the arrows, rendering futile the aim of that marksman (Indrajit) who was aiming at him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह महाकपि (हनुमान) बाणों के बीच में से शीघ्रता से निकल जाते थे, और इस प्रकार उस लक्ष्य-वेधी (सटीक निशाना लगाने वाले इंद्रजीत) के लक्ष्य-संधान को व्यर्थ (मोघ) कर देते थे।
English Commentary
This implies a scene akin to weaving through a laser grid. The arrows are flying thick and fast, but Hanuman is faster. He moves 'antareshu' (in the gaps between) the arrows. Indrajit is described as 'abhilakshyasya' (one who acts with a specific target/aim), yet Hanuman is 'moghayans' (making futile) that aim. This is a battle between precision and unpredictability. Hanuman's strategy is to exhaust Indrajit's patience and ammunition by making himself an impossible target to pin down.

यह श्लोक हनुमान की 'एक्रोबेटिक्स' (कलाबाजी) और युद्ध-कौशल का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। 'शराणामन्तरेषु' (बाणों के बीच में)—अर्थात् बाणों की वर्षा इतनी घनी है कि हनुमान को उनके बीच में से रास्ता निकालना पड़ रहा है। इंद्रजीत एक 'अभिलक्ष्य' (सटीक निशानेबाज) है, लेकिन हनुमान उसके कौशल को 'मोघ' (व्यर्थ) कर रहे हैं। किसी धनुर्धर के लिए इससे बड़ी हताशा नहीं हो सकती कि उसका अचूक निशाना बार-बार चूक जाए। हनुमान शक्ति से नहीं, बल्कि चपलता (agility) से यह युद्ध लड़ रहे हैं।
