न कश्चित् त्रिषु लोकेषु संयुगे नगतश्रमः ।
भुजवीर्याभिगुप्तश्च तपसा चाभिरक्षितः ।
देशकालविभागज्ञस्त्वमेव मतिसत्तमः ।

na kaścit triṣu lokeṣu saṃyuge nagataśramaḥ |
bhujavīryābhiguptaśca tapasā cābhirakṣitaḥ |
deśakālavibhāgajñastvameva matisattamaḥ ॥5-48-4॥
Translation
There is no one in the three worlds who is as untiring in battle as you. You are protected by the strength of your arms and guarded by your penance. You know the distinctions of time and place, and you are truly the most intelligent one.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तीनों लोकों में ऐसा कोई नहीं है जो युद्ध में तुम्हारे समान थकान-रहित हो। तुम अपने बाहुबल से सुरक्षित हो और तपस्या द्वारा रक्षित हो। तुम देश और काल के विभाग को जानने वाले हो और बुद्धिमत्ता में सर्वश्रेष्ठ हो।
English Commentary
Ravana praises Indrajit comprehensively, touching upon his physical endurance, spiritual protection, and intellectual acuity. He describes Indrajit as 'nagatashrama' (tireless), acknowledging the stamina required for prolonged combat. More importantly, Ravana highlights that Indrajit is protected by his 'tapas' (austerities), implying a spiritual shield that ordinary weapons cannot pierce. By calling him 'matisattama' (supreme in intellect) and a knower of time and place, Ravana recognizes that defeating Hanuman requires tactical genius, not just brute force. This acknowledges the unique threat Hanuman poses—he is not a mindless beast but a strategic adversary, requiring a counter-strategy from someone equally intelligent.

रावण यहाँ इंद्रजीत के केवल शारीरिक बल की ही नहीं, बल्कि उसके मानसिक और आध्यात्मिक बल की भी प्रशंसा कर रहा है। 'नगतश्रमः' (जिसे थकान न हो) कहकर वह इंद्रजीत की सहनशक्ति (stamina) को रेखांकित करता है। 'तपसा चाभिरक्षितः' (तपस्या द्वारा रक्षित) यह दर्शाता है कि इंद्रजीत की शक्ति केवल भौतिक नहीं है, बल्कि उसके पास दैवीय सुरक्षा कवच भी है। रावण उसे 'मतिसत्तमः' (बुद्धिमानों में श्रेष्ठ) और 'देशकालविभागज्ञः' (समय और स्थान का ज्ञाता) कहता है, जो यह इंगित करता है कि हनुमान जैसे चतुर शत्रु को हराने के लिए केवल बल नहीं, बल्कि कूटनीति और सही समय पर सही निर्णय लेने की आवश्यकता है। रावण जानता है कि हनुमान बुद्धिमान है, इसलिए वह अपने सबसे बुद्धिमान योद्धा को भेज रहा है।
