न मे ऽस्य बन्धस्य च शक्तिरस्ति विमोक्षणे लोकगुरोः प्रभावात् ।
इत्येव मत्वा विहितो ऽस्त्रबन्धो मया ऽ ऽत्मयोनेरनुवर्तितव्यः ।
॥५-४८-४२॥
na me 'sya bandhasya ca śaktirasti vimokṣaṇe lokaguroḥ prabhāvāt |
ityeva matvā vihito 'strabandho mayā ''tmayoneranuvartitavyah ॥5-48-42॥
Translation
"Due to the power of the Preceptor of the World, I do not have the power to release this bond." Thinking thus, [he decided], "This weapon-bond ordained by the Self-born must be obeyed by me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"लोकगुरु (ब्रह्मा) के प्रभाव के कारण मुझमें इस बंधन को खोलने की शक्ति नहीं है," ऐसा मानकर (उन्होंने सोचा कि) "मेरे द्वारा आत्मयोनि (ब्रह्मा) के इस अस्त्र-बंधन का अनुसरण (आदर) किया जाना चाहिए।"
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes Hanuman's humility and adherence to cosmic law (Maryada). Despite possessing boundless strength, he chooses not to transgress the rules set by the 'Lokaguru' (Preceptor of the World). He acknowledges that his personal might is secondary to Brahma's ordinance. The word 'anuvartitavyah' (must be obeyed/followed) indicates that his captivity is sustained not by physical weakness, but by his moral and spiritual discipline.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की विनम्रता और मर्यादा को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि उनके पास असीम शक्ति है, वे 'लोकगुरु' के नियमों का उल्लंघन नहीं करना चाहते। वे स्वीकार करते हैं कि ब्रह्मा जी के विधान के सामने उनका व्यक्तिगत बल गौण है। 'अनुवर्तितव्यः' (पालन करना चाहिए) शब्द बताता है कि यह बंधन उनकी शारीरिक कमजोरी के कारण नहीं, बल्कि उनके नैतिक और आध्यात्मिक अनुशासन के कारण प्रभावी है।
