दुर्धरेण प्रहस्तेन महापार्श्वेन रक्षसा ।
मन्त्रिभिर्मन्त्रतत्त्वज्ञैर्निकुम्भेन च मन्त्रिणा ।

durdhareṇa prahastena mahāpārśvena rakṣasā । mantribhirmantratattvajñairnikumbhena ca mantriṇā । ॥5-49-11॥
Translation
(He was surrounded) by the demons Durdhara, Prahasta, Mahaparshva, and the minister Nikumbha, all of whom were experts in the essence of counsel (mantra-tattva).

(वह घिरा हुआ था) दुर्धर, प्रहस्त, महापार्श्व नामक राक्षसों से और मंत्र (कूटनीति/सलाह) के तत्व को जानने वाले मंत्री निकुम्भ से।
English Commentary
This introduces Ravana's 'cabinet.' Prahasta was his chief commander. These figures are described not just as warriors but as 'mantratattvajna' (knowers of the essence of counsel/diplomacy). This indicates that Ravana's rule was supported by intelligent advisors, not just brute force. For Hanuman, this was vital intelligence: the enemy possessed strategic depth alongside physical might.

यहाँ रावण के कैबिनेट (मंत्रिमंडल) का परिचय है। प्रहस्त रावण का मुख्य सेनापति था। ये केवल योद्धा नहीं, बल्कि 'मन्त्रतत्त्वज्ञैः' (कूटनीति के मर्मज्ञ) थे। इससे पता चलता है कि रावण केवल बाहुबल से नहीं, बल्कि बुद्धिमान सलाहकारों की सहायता से शासन करता था। यह हनुमान जी के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी थी कि शत्रु के पास शारीरिक शक्ति के साथ-साथ बौद्धिक शक्ति भी है।
