बाहुभिर्बद्धकेयूरैश्चन्दनोत्तमरूषितैः ।
भ्राजमानाङ्गदैः पीनैः पञ्चशीर्षौरिवोरगैः ।

bāhubhirbaddhakeyūraiścandanoltamarūṣitaiḥ । bhrājamānāṅgadaiḥ pīnaiḥ pañcaśīrṣaurivoragaiḥ । । ॥5-49-8॥
Translation
With his muscular arms adorned with armlets, smeared with excellent sandalwood paste, and wearing shining bracelets, he looked like (a cluster of) five-headed serpents.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(रावण) केयूर (बाजूबंद) से बंधे हुए, उत्तम चंदन से लिपे हुए, और चमकते हुए अंगदों से युक्त अपने मांसल (मोटे) हाथों से ऐसा लग रहा था, मानो पाँच फनों वाले सर्प हों।
English Commentary
Ravana is depicted with twenty arms. The simile compares his arms to 'five-headed serpents.' The arms are muscular and long, and the jewelry adorning them resembles the glistening skin or hoods of snakes. This comparison highlights not just the strength but the lethal potential of his limbs. Like a coil of venomous snakes, his arms are instruments of death and constriction.

रावण की बीस भुजाएं हैं। यहाँ उपमा यह है कि उसकी भुजाएं 'पाँच फनों वाले साँपों' जैसी लग रही हैं। भुजाएं मोटी और लंबी हैं, और उन पर पहने गए आभूषण साँपों की चमकती हुई त्वचा या फनों के समान हैं। यह तुलना रावण की भुजाओं की शक्ति और उनकी घातक क्षमता (विषैले सर्प जैसी) को इंगित करती है। वह अपनी भुजाओं से ही शत्रुओं को जकड़ कर मार सकता है।
