महति स्फाटिके चित्रे रत्नसंयोगसंस्कृते ।
उत्तमास्तरणास्तीर्णे सूपविष्टं वरासने ।

mahati sphāṭike citre ratnasaṃyogasaṃskṛte । uttamāstaraṇāstīrṇe sūpaviṣṭaṃ varāsane । ॥5-49-9॥
Translation
He was seated comfortably on an excellent throne made of crystal, huge and wonderful, decorated with gems and covered with exquisite spreads.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह एक विशाल, विचित्र, रत्नों से जड़े हुए और उत्तम बिछौनों से ढके हुए स्फटिक (crystal) के श्रेष्ठ सिंहासन पर सुखपूर्वक बैठा था।
English Commentary
Ravana's throne is made of crystal (sphatika), symbolizing clarity and luxury, contrasting with the dark nature of its occupant. The throne is huge and comfortable ('supavishtam' - well seated), indicating that Ravana sits with absolute authority and ease, not in the tension of war. The level of architecture and furnishings in Lanka is depicted as rivaling that of the celestial abodes.

रावण का सिंहासन 'स्फटिक' (Crystal) का बना है, जो पारदर्शिता और शुद्धता का प्रतीक है, लेकिन उस पर बैठा व्यक्ति अशुद्ध कर्म करने वाला है। सिंहासन विशाल और आरामदायक है, जो दर्शाता है कि रावण युद्ध के तनाव में नहीं, बल्कि पूर्ण अधिकार और निश्चिंतता के भाव में है। लंका की वास्तुकला और फर्नीचर का स्तर यहाँ देवलोक के समान दिखाया गया है।
