रक्षाम्सि वक्षाम्सि च विक्षिपन्ति ।
गात्राणि कान्तासु च विक्षिपन्ति ।
रूपाअणि चित्राणि च विक्षिपन्ति ।
दृढानि चापानि च विक्षिपन्ति ॥५-५-१२॥

rakṣāṃsi vakṣāṃsi ca vikṣipanti । gātrāṇi kāntāsu ca vikṣipanti । rūpāṇi citrāṇi ca vikṣipanti । dṛḍhāni cāpāni ca vikṣipanti ॥5-5-12॥

Translation

Those Rākṣasas were thrusting out their chests, flinging their limbs upon their beloved women, exhibiting various strange forms and colors, and brandishing (or casting aside) their sturdy bows.

हिंदी अनुवाद

वे राक्षस अपने वक्षस्थलों को फैला रहे थे (या थपथपा रहे थे), अपनी प्रेमिकाओं पर अपने अंगों को डाल रहे थे, विभिन्न प्रकार के रूप-रंग दिखा रहे थे, और मजबूत धनुषों को उछाल रहे थे (या चला रहे थे)।

English Commentary

This verse continues the depiction of the Rākṣasas' intoxication-induced frenzy. Thrusting out their chests signifies their boastfulness and display of strength, amplified by alcohol. Flings their limbs upon their beloveds points to their uncontrolled, licentious behaviour. Rūpāṇi citrāṇi ca vikṣipanti means they were either showing strange, variegated forms due to their illusory powers (Māyā) or simply making grotesque faces due to severe drunkenness. The fact that they were brandishing (or tossing aside) their sturdy bows highlights their recklessness and disregard for security, a key finding for Hanumān as he assesses the enemy's state of mind.

इस श्लोक में भी राक्षसों के मदिराजनित उन्माद (Intoxication-induced frenzy) का वर्णन जारी है। 'वक्षस्थलों को फैलाना' या 'थपथपाना' उनके अहंकार और बल-प्रदर्शन को दर्शाता है, जो नशे में बढ़ जाता है। 'कान्ताओं पर अंग डालना' उनके असंयमित कामुक व्यवहार को इंगित करता है। 'रूपाणि चित्राणि च विक्षिपन्ति' का अर्थ है कि वे अपनी मायावी शक्तियों (illusionary powers) के कारण अजीबोगरीब रूप दिखा रहे थे, या अत्यधिक नशे में उनके चेहरे विकृत हो रहे थे। 'दृढानि चापानि च विक्षिपन्ति' से स्पष्ट होता है कि वे अपने आयुधों के साथ भी असावधानी बरत रहे थे, जो उनकी लापरवाही और सुरक्षा के प्रति उदासीनता को दर्शाता है। हनुमान एक गुप्तचर के रूप में शत्रु की इस मानसिक और शारीरिक अराजकता का अवलोकन कर रहे थे।
