समुद्रं लङ्घयित्वैव तां दिदृक्षुरिहागतः ।
भ्रमता च मया दृष्टा गृहे ते जनकात्मजा ।

samudraṃ laṅghayitvaiva tāṃ didṛkṣurihāgataḥ । bhramatā ca mayā dṛṣṭā gṛhe te janakātmajā । । 5.51.16।। ॥5-51-16॥
Translation
Having crossed the ocean, I came here wishing to see her. While roaming around, I have seen the daughter of Janaka in your house.
हिंदी अनुवाद
समुद्र को लांघकर मैं उन्हीं (सीता) के दर्शन की इच्छा से यहाँ आया हूँ। यहाँ घूमते हुए मैंने जनकनन्दिनी को आपके घर (अशोक वाटिका) में देख लिया है।
English Commentary
Hanuman confirms the success of his reconnaissance. He explicitly states that the objective—finding Sita—has been achieved. The phrase "seen... in your house" (dṛṣṭā gṛhe te) acts as a formal confrontation; the secret is out. By admitting he was "roaming around" (bhramatā), Hanuman casually acknowledges his infiltration of Ravana's high-security zone without detection until he chose to reveal himself. This verse marks the transition from "searching" to "found," implying that the window for Ravana to claim ignorance or hide the hostage has firmly closed.

यह श्लोक हनुमान के मिशन की सफलता (Mission Accomplished) की घोषणा है। हनुमान रावण को बताते हैं कि जिस कार्य (सीता की खोज) के लिए वे आए थे, वह पूरा हो चुका है। 'गृहे ते' (तुम्हारे घर में) शब्द का प्रयोग करके हनुमान रावण पर चोरी और अपहरण का सीधा आरोप लगाते हैं, लेकिन शिष्ट भाषा में। उन्होंने पुष्टि कर दी है कि सीता मिल गई हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि अब अगला चरण (युद्ध और रिकवरी) निकट है। 'जनकनन्दिनी' शब्द सीता की उच्च कुलीनता को दर्शाता है, जिससे रावण के अपराध की गंभीरता और बढ़ जाती है।
