देवासुरनरेन्द्रेषु यक्षरक्षोगणेषु च ।
विद्याधरेषु सर्वेषु गन्धर्वेषूरगेषु च ।

English Commentary
(Verses 40, 41, and 42 are to be read together). Hanumat lists all the powerful species of creation. He intends to make Ravana realize that there is absolutely no power in the universe that can stand against Rama. This refutes Ravana's pride in having conquered the Devas and Gandharvas.
