लङ्का चारयितव्या वै पुनरेव भवेदिति ।
रात्रौ न हि सुदृष्टा मे दुर्गकर्मविधानतः ।

Laṅkā cārayitavyā vai punareva bhavediti । Rātrau na hi sudṛṣṭā me durgakarmavidhānataḥ । । ॥5-53-14॥
Translation
Lanka must indeed be observed by me once again; for at night, due to the intricacies of the fortifications, it was not seen clearly by me.

लंका का मुझे फिर से निरीक्षण करना चाहिए, क्योंकि रात में किले की बनावट और सुरक्षा प्रबंधों के कारण मैं इसे अच्छी तरह नहीं देख सका था।
English Commentary
This verse showcases Hanuman's unparalleled foresight and commitment to his role as a scout. Even while captured, his primary focus remains on gathering intelligence. He transforms his predicament into a strategic advantage. He notes that during his nocturnal entry, the 'durgakarmavidhānataḥ' (the layout of the fortifications and defense mechanisms) was obscure. Now that the Rakshasas intend to parade him through the city, he will gain access to restricted areas and observe the defense systems clearly. Instead of worrying about his safety, he plans to map the enemy territory for the future invasion. It is a prime example of turning adversity into opportunity.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की दूरदर्शिता को प्रकट करता है। शत्रु द्वारा पकड़ लिए जाने पर भी उनका ध्यान जासूसी (गुप्तचरी) पर ही केंद्रित है। वे अपनी विवशता को अवसर में बदल रहे हैं। उन्होंने सोचा कि रात के अंधेरे में उन्होंने लंका तो देखी, परन्तु 'दुर्गकर्मविधानतः' (किले की गुप्त रचना और विन्यास) स्पष्ट नहीं हो पाया था। अब जब राक्षस स्वयं उन्हें पूरे नगर में घुमाएंगे, तो वे दिन के उजाले में (या अपनी पूँछ की अग्नि के प्रकाश में) उन सुरक्षित और गुप्त मार्गों को भी देख सकेंगे जहाँ सामान्यतः जाना असंभव था। यह 'आपदा में अवसर' खोजने का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है।
