दीप्यमाने ततस्तस्य लांगूलाग्रे हनूमतः ।
राक्षस्यस्ता विरूपाक्ष्यः शंसुर्देव्यास्तदप्रियम् ।

Dīpyamāne tatastasya lāṅgūlāgre hanūmataḥ । Rākṣasyastā virūpākṣyaḥ śaṃsurdevyāstadapriyam । । ॥5-53-24॥
Translation
While the tip of Hanuman's tail was blazing, those ugly-eyed Rakshasis (guards) conveyed that unpleasant news to the Devi (Sita).
हिंदी अनुवाद
जब हनुमान जी की पूँछ का अग्रभाग जल रहा था, तब उन विरूप आँखों वाली राक्षसियों ने देवी (सीता) को वह अप्रिय समाचार सुनाया।
English Commentary
The guards of the Ashoka Vatika, described as 'virūpākṣyaḥ' (ugly-eyed/deformed), rushed to inform Sita as soon as they saw Hanuman's plight. The term 'tadapriyam' (that unpleasant news) suggests their malicious intent. They delighted in causing Sita mental anguish. Knowing that Sita had found hope in the monkey, they eagerly conveyed that her 'savior' was captured and being burnt. This represents a psychological attack on Sita, attempting to crush her renewed spirit by showing her that even the mighty messenger of Rama was helpless before Ravana's power.

अशोक वाटिका में सीता जी की पहरेदारी करने वाली राक्षसियों ('विरूपाक्ष्यः') को जैसे ही हनुमान की स्थिति का पता चला, वे सीता जी को दुख पहुँचाने के लिए दौड़ पड़ीं। 'तदप्रियम्' (वह अप्रिय समाचार) का प्रयोग बताता है कि राक्षसियाँ सीता जी को मानसिक संताप देने का कोई अवसर नहीं छोड़ती थीं। उन्हें पता था कि सीता जी को उस वानर से सहानुभूति है, इसलिए वे विशेष रूप से यह बताने गईं कि उनका 'रक्षक' अब पकड़ा गया है और जलाया जा रहा है। यह सीता जी की परीक्षा का एक और कठिन क्षण था, जहाँ उनकी आशा की किरण (हनुमान) को संकट में बताया गया।
