उत्पपाताथ वेगेन ननाद च महाकपिः ।
पुरद्वारं ततः श्रीमान् शैलशृङ्गमिवोन्नतम् ।
।
॥५-५३-४०॥
Utpapātātha vegena nanāda ca mahākapiḥ । Puradvāraṃ tataḥ śrīmān śailaśṛṅgamivonnatam । । ॥5-53-40॥
Translation
Then the great monkey jumped up with speed and roared. The glorious one [leapt towards] the city gate which was lofty like a mountain peak.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वह महाकपि वेग से ऊपर उछले और गर्जना की। वह श्रीमान (हनुमान) पर्वत शिखर के समान ऊंचे नगर-द्वार की ओर (बढे/पहुंचे)।
English Commentary
Action explodes in this verse. Hanuman transitions from binding stillness to dynamic movement ('utpapāta' - jumped up). The roar ('nanāda') announces his intent to retaliate. He targets a strategic high ground—the city gate ('puradvāram'), described as being as high as a mountain peak. Seeking a high vantage point is typical of Vanara combat tactics, giving him superiority over the ground-level demons. The term 'Śrīmān' (glorious) suggests he is radiant with confidence and divine energy.

यह सक्रियता का क्षण है। चिंतन समाप्त होते ही हनुमान जी ने 'वेगेन' (तेजी से) छलांग लगाई। उनकी 'नाद' (गर्जना) शत्रुओं में भय उत्पन्न करने के लिए थी। उन्होंने नगर के मुख्य द्वार (पुरद्वार) को लक्ष्य बनाया जो 'शैलशृङ्गमिवोन्नतम्' (पर्वत की चोटी सा ऊंचा) था। ऊंचे स्थान पर जाने का उद्देश्य रणनीतिक था—वहां से वे पूरी लंका को देख सकते थे और वहां भीड़ भी कम थी। 'श्रीमान' शब्द उनकी शोभा और विजय-श्री का सूचक है।
