तेषु तेषु महार्हेषु भवनेषु महायशाः ।
गृहेष्वृद्धिमतामृद्धिं ददाह स महाकपिः ।
।
॥५-५४-१७॥
Teṣu teṣu mahārheṣu bhavaneṣu mahāyaśāḥ । Gṛheṣvṛddhimatāmṛddhiṃ dadāha sa mahākapiḥ । । ॥5-54-17॥
Translation
In those various precious mansions, the illustrious great monkey burned down the prosperity (wealth and opulence) of the prosperous Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन विभिन्न बहुमूल्य भवनों में, महायशस्वी उन महाकपि ने समृद्धिशाली राक्षसों की सारी समृद्धि (धन-सम्पत्ति) जला डाली।
English Commentary
Hanuman targets the economic foundation of the Rakshasas. He burns not just the bhavanas (buildings) but the riddhi (wealth/prosperity) within them. The redundancy of riddhimatām riddhim (prosperity of the prosperous) emphasizes the sheer scale of the wealth being incinerated. By destroying their accumulated treasures, Hanuman strips the Rakshasas of the material power that fueled their arrogance. It signifies that ill-gotten wealth (acquired through terror) is transient and ultimately perishable by the fire of retribution.
हिंदी टीका
हनुमान जी ने केवल ढांचे नहीं जलाए, बल्कि राक्षसों की 'ऋद्धि' (समृद्धि/ऐश्वर्य) को भस्म कर दिया। लंका अपनी धन-संपदा और वैभव के लिए प्रसिद्ध थी, जो राक्षसों के अहंकार का मूल कारण था। उस वैभव को राख में बदलकर हनुमान जी ने उनके गर्व को खंडित कर दिया। 'महायशाः' (महान यश वाले) विशेषण यहाँ उपयुक्त है क्योंकि शत्रु के घर में घुसकर उसकी सारी कमाई को नष्ट कर देना एक ऐसा पराक्रम है जिससे हनुमान जी की कीर्ति तीनों लोकों में फैल गई।
