हिंदी अनुवाद
(वह महल) नाना प्रकार के रत्नों से विभूषित, मेरु और मन्दराचल पर्वत के समान विशाल तथा सभी प्रकार के मंगलमय पदार्थों से सुशोभित था।
English Commentary
Valmiki describes Ravana’s palace with awe-inspiring imagery, comparing it to the cosmic mountains Meru and Mandara. This highlights the magnitude of the structure Hanuman is about to destroy. It is sarvamangalaśobhite (adorned with all auspicious symbols), which underscores the tragedy of Ravana—he possessed everything representing royalty and auspiciousness, yet lost it all due to the single sin of abducting Sita. It emphasizes that external pomp cannot protect against the consequences of Adharma.

रावण के महल की भव्यता का वर्णन किया गया है। इसकी तुलना 'मेरु' और 'मन्दर' पर्वतों से की गई है, जो उसकी विशालता और ऊँचाई को दर्शाती है। 'सर्वमङ्गलशोभिते' (सभी मंगलों से युक्त) कहना एक विडंबना (irony) भी हो सकता है—कि जो महल बाहर से इतना शुभ और मंगलमय दिखता है, उसके अंदर सीता हरण जैसा घोर पाप छिपा है। ऐसे भव्य और सुदृढ़ महल को जलाना हनुमान जी के असाधारण बल का प्रमाण है।
