ततस्तु लङ्कापुरपर्वताग्रे समुत्थितो भीमपराक्रमो ऽग्निः ।
प्रमार्य चूडावलयं प्रदीप्तो हनूमता वेगवता विसृष्टः ।

Tatastu laṅkāpuraparvatāgre samutthito bhīmaparākramo 'gniḥ । Pramārya cūḍāvalayaṃ pradīpto hanūmatā vegavatā visṛṣṭaḥ । । ॥5-54-32॥
Translation
Then, the blazing fire of terrible prowess, released by the swift Hanuman, rose up on the peak of the mountain of the city of Lanka, wiping out the cluster of crests/pinnacles (of the buildings).
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, वेगवान हनुमान जी द्वारा छोड़ी गई वह प्रज्वलित और भयानक पराक्रम वाली अग्नि लंकापुरी के पर्वत (त्रिकूट) के शिखर पर उठ खड़ी हुई और महलों के शिखरों (चूडावलय) को मिटाने (नष्ट करने) लगी।
English Commentary
The geography of Lanka (situated on a mountain) plays a role here. The fire unleashed by Hanuman ascends to the parvatāgre (mountain peak), dominating the skyline. The fire is personified as having bhīmaparākram (terrible prowess). Destroying the cūḍāvalayaṃ (rings of crests/pinnacles) symbolizes the decapitation of the city's architectural pride. The visual is of a city-crowned mountain turning into a volcano-like pyre.

लंका त्रिकूट पर्वत पर बसी थी। हनुमान जी द्वारा लगाई गई आग अब नीचे से ऊपर उठकर पर्वत के शिखर तक पहुँच गई है। 'भीमपराक्रमो अग्निः' (भयानक पराक्रम वाली अग्नि) अग्नि को एक योद्धा जैसा व्यक्तित्व प्रदान करता है। आग भवनों के 'चूडावलय' (शिखरों/मुकुटों) को नष्ट कर रही है, जो प्रतीकात्मक रूप से लंका के शीर्षस्थ अभिमान का नाश है। पर्वत के शिखर पर जलती हुई आग दूर-दूर तक दिखाई दे रही है, जैसे पाप का घड़ा भर कर फूट पड़ा हो।
