आदित्यकोटीसदृशः सुतेजा लङ्कां समाप्तां परिवार्य तिष्ठन् ।
शब्दैरनेकैरशनिप्ररूढैर्भिन्दन्निवाण्डं प्रबभौ महाग्निः ।

Ādityakoṭīsadṛśaḥ sutejā laṅkāṃ samāptāṃ parivārya tiṣṭhan । Śabdairanekairaśaniprarūḍhairbhindannivāṇḍaṃ prabhau mahāgniḥ । ॥5-54-34॥
Translation
Resembling millions of suns, that great fire of immense brilliance stood enveloping the entire Lanka. With many thunderous sounds like lightning strikes, it shone as if cracking the cosmic egg.
हिंदी अनुवाद
करोड़ों सूर्यों के समान तेज वाली वह महाअग्नि पूरी लंका को घेरकर स्थित हो गई। वज्रपात के समान अनेक शब्दों (धमाकों) के साथ वह ब्रह्माण्ड (अण्ड) को फोड़ती हुई सी प्रतीत हुई।
English Commentary
The scale of the fire reaches cosmic proportions. It is compared to Adityakoṭī (ten million suns). It envelopes (parivārya) the entire city, signifying a total siege by fire. The auditory description is equally powerful: the cracking and crashing sounds are so loud they seem to be bhindannivāṇḍam (shattering the Brahmanda/Cosmic Egg). This hyperbole emphasizes that the event is earth-shattering, resonating with the sound of absolute annihilation.

अग्नि का विशाल रूप! 'आदित्यकोटीसदृशः' (करोड़ों सूर्यों के समान) उपमा उसकी चमक और ताप की पराकाष्ठा है। अग्नि ने पूरी लंका को 'परिवार्य' (घेर) लिया है; अब बचने का कोई मार्ग नहीं है। 'अण्डं भिन्दन्निवा' (ब्रह्माण्ड के कवच को फोड़ने जैसा) शब्द उन भयानक आवाजों के लिए है जो इमारतों के गिरने और विस्फोटों से हो रही हैं। यह दृश्य ऐसा है मानो लंका का ही नहीं, बल्कि सृष्टि का अंत हो रहा हो।
