किं ब्रह्मणः सर्वपितामहस्य सर्वस्य धातुश्चतुराननस्य ।
इहागतो वानररूपधारी रक्षोपसंहारकरः प्रकोपः ।

Kiṃ brahmaṇaḥ sarvapitāmahasya sarvasya dhātuścaturānanasya । Ihāgato vānararūpadhārī rakṣopasaṃhārakaḥ prakopaḥ । । ॥5-54-37॥
Translation
Is this the wrath of the four-faced Creator Brahma, the Grandfather of all, that has arrived here assuming the form of a monkey to destroy the Rakshasas?

क्या यह सबके पितामह, चतुर्मुख विधाता ब्रह्मा जी का ही प्रकोप है, जो राक्षसों का संहार करने के लिए वानर का रूप धारण करके यहाँ आया है?
English Commentary
It was Brahma who had granted boons to Ravana, making the Rakshasa race nearly invincible. Now, facing total annihilation, the Rakshasas speculate that perhaps the Creator himself has turned against them. They perceive Hanuman not just as a messenger, but as the personified wrath (prakopa) of the four-faced Brahma arriving to wipe out their race. This reflects a deep existential fear; they realize that if the fundamental support of their existence (the Creator) has manifested as anger, their end is inevitable. It signifies the withdrawal of divine grace from Lanka.

राक्षस जाति को वरदान देने वाले ब्रह्मा जी ही थे, जिनके कारण रावण और उसके अनुयायी अजय हो गए थे। अब संकट की घड़ी में राक्षसों को लग रहा है कि शायद स्वयं विधाता ही उनसे रुष्ट हो गए हैं। वे हनुमान जी को 'ब्रह्मा का प्रकोप' (मूर्तिमंत क्रोध) मान रहे हैं। यह राक्षसों के अपराधबोध और आसन्न विनाश की पूर्व-आभास को दर्शाता है। जब रक्षक (ब्रह्मा) ही भक्षक रूप (प्रकोप) में आ जाएं, तो विनाश निश्चित है—यही भय उनके मन में व्याप्त है।
