हुताशनज्वालसमावृता सा हतप्रवीरा परिवृत्तयोधा ।
हनूमतः क्रोधबलाभिभूता बभूव शापोपहतेव लङ्का ।

Hutāśanajvālasamāvṛtā sā hatapravīrā parivṛttayodhā । Hanūmataḥ krodhabalābhibhūtā babhūva śāpopahateva laṅkā । । ॥5-54-42॥
Translation
Enveloped in flames of fire, with its chief heroes killed and warriors retreating, overwhelmed by the power of Hanuman's anger, Lanka appeared as if struck down by a curse.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अग्नि की ज्वालाओं से घिरी हुई, जिसके प्रमुख वीर मारे गए हैं और बचे हुए योद्धा भाग रहे हैं, हनुमान जी के क्रोध और बल से तिरस्कृत वह लंका ऐसी प्रतीत हुई मानो शाप से नष्ट हो गई हो।
English Commentary
The imagery implies that the physical burning was a manifestation of a deeper spiritual defeat. With heroes dead and surviving warriors fleeing in disarray, the city looked shapopahata (struck by a curse). Hanuman's anger (krodha) acted as the instrument of cosmic justice. The once-proud city, believed to be unconquerable, now lay in ruins, suggesting that its destruction was not just a military loss but a destined fateful event triggered by the Monkey Hero.

लंका की स्थिति ऐसी हो गई थी जैसे उसे कोई दैवीय शाप लगा हो। हनुमान जी का क्रोध ही उस शाप का माध्यम बना। 'परिवृत्तयोधा' (योद्धाओं का पीछे हट जाना या भागना) यह दर्शाता है कि राक्षसों का मनोबल पूरी तरह टूट चुका था। जो लंका कभी त्रिलोकजेता रावण के कारण गर्व से सिर उठाए खड़ी थी, वह अब हनुमान जी के प्रताप के आगे असहाय और श्रीहीन (शापग्रस्त) दिखाई दे रही थी।
