स राक्षसांस्तान् सुबहूंश्च हत्वा वनं च भङ्क्त्वा बहुपादपं तत् ।
विसृज्य रक्षोभवनेषु चाग्निं जगाम रामं मनसा महात्मा ।
॥५-५४-४६॥
Sa rākṣasāṃstān subahūṃśca hatvā vanaṃ ca bhaṅktvā bahupādapaṃ tat । Visṛjya rakṣobhavaneṣu cāgniṃ jagāma rāmaṃ manसा महात्मा । ॥5-54-46॥
Translation
Having killed those many Rakshasas, destroyed that forest with many trees, and released fire into the houses of the Rakshasas, the great-souled one went to Rama with his mind (focused his mind on Rama).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन बहुत से राक्षसों को मारकर, अनेक वृक्षों वाले उस वन को उजाड़कर और राक्षस-भवनों में आग लगाकर, उन महात्मा (हनुमान) ने अपने मन से श्री राम के पास गमन किया (अर्थात अब उनका मन श्री राम की ओर लग गया)।
English Commentary
The transition from warrior to devotee is instant. Immediately after the carnage—killing demons, breaking trees, burning homes—Hanuman's mind travels to Rama (jagama ramam manasa). This shows his detachment; the violence was a duty, not a passion. Being a Mahatma (great soul), his focus shifts from the chaotic external world of Lanka back to the spiritual center of his existence, Lord Rama, signaling his readiness to depart.

विध्वंस का कार्य समाप्त होते ही हनुमान जी का ध्यान तुरंत अपने स्वामी श्री राम की ओर मुड़ गया। 'जगाम रामं मनसा' (मन से राम के पास गए) अत्यंत सुंदर पंक्ति है। यह निष्काम कर्मयोग का उदाहरण है—भीषण युद्ध और हिंसा के बाद भी उनका मन लिप्त नहीं हुआ, बल्कि तुरंत प्रभु चरणों में लौट गया। अब वे शारीरिक रूप से भी लौटने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।
