अवप्लुत्य महावेगः प्रहस्तस्य निवेशनम् ।
अग्निं तत्र स निकषिप्य श्वसनेन समो बली ।
।
॥५-५४-८॥
Avaplutya mahāvegaḥ prahastasya niveśanam । Agniṃ tatra sa nikṣipya śvasanena samo balī । । ॥5-54-8॥
Translation
Leaping with great speed to Prahasta's dwelling, he, strong and equal to the wind, threw fire there.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वायु के समान बलवान और महान वेग वाले हनुमान जी ने उछलकर प्रहस्त के घर पर पहुंचकर वहाँ अग्नि डाल दी।
English Commentary
Hanuman now shifts from general destruction to targeting the elite. His first specific target is the residence of Prahasta, Ravana's chief commander. Attacking the leadership's homes creates panic and confusion in the command structure. Hanuman is described as śvasanena samaḥ (equal to the wind/breath). This is fitting not only because of his speed (mahāvegaḥ) but also because wind is the friend of fire; his wind-like movement fans the flames he is setting.

अब हनुमान जी विशिष्ट लक्ष्यों (specific targets) को निशाना बना रहे हैं। सबसे पहले वे 'प्रहस्त' के निवेशन (भवन) पर जाते हैं। प्रहस्त रावण का मुख्य सेनापति है, अतः उसके घर को जलाना एक बड़ा प्रतीकात्मक और सामरिक आघात है। हनुमान जी को 'श्वसनेन समो' (वायु के समान) कहा गया है, जो उनकी गति और अग्नि को प्रज्वलित करने की क्षमता (हवा से आग भड़कती है) दोनों को सार्थक करता है।
