एतदेव वचः श्रुत्वा भरतो भ्रातृवत्सलः ।
धर्मात्मा सहशत्रुघ्नः कथं शक्ष्यति जीवितुम् ।

Hearing this very news, how will the righteous Bharata, who is affectionate towards his brother, be able to live along with Shatrughna?

English Commentary
Hanuman’s empathy extends beyond the immediate battlefield to the distant city of Ayodhya. He contemplates the impact on Bharata, known for his supreme devotion to his brother (bhrātṛvatsala). Hanuman deduces that if Rama dies, Bharata and Shatrughna will not survive the grief. This reflects Hanuman's holistic awareness; he isn't just a soldier fulfilling a task, but a conscious being aware of the deep emotional and dharmic ties binding the Ikshvaku family. The destruction of one link breaks the entire chain of the righteous family structure.

हनुमान जी की संवेदना लंका और किष्किन्धा से आगे बढ़कर अयोध्या तक पहुँचती है। वे भरत के भ्रातृ-प्रेम (भ्रातृवत्सल) से भली-भांति परिचित हैं, यद्यपि वे अभी उनसे मिले नहीं हैं (राम के मुख से सुना है)। वे जानते हैं कि राम के विनाश का समाचार अयोध्या के राजकुल का भी अंत कर देगा। 'धर्मात्मा' विशेषण बताता है कि भरत का जीवन धर्म और राम पर आधारित है। यह श्लोक रामायण के पारिवारिक मूल्यों और भाइयों के बीच के अटूट प्रेम को रेखांकित करता है।
