इक्ष्वाकुवंशे धर्मिष्ठे गते नाशमसंशयम् ।
भविष्यन्ति प्रजाः सर्वाः शोकसन्तापपीडिताः ।

ikṣvākuvaṃśe dharmiṣṭhe gate nāśamasaṃśayam |
bhaviṣyanti prajāḥ sarvāḥ śokasantāpapīḍitāḥ ॥5-55-20॥
Translation
When the most righteous Ikshvaku dynasty meets its undoubted destruction, all the subjects will be tormented by grief and anguish.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस परम धार्मिक इक्ष्वाकु वंश के निस्संदेह नाश हो जाने पर, सारी प्रजा शोक और संताप से पीड़ित हो जाएगी।
English Commentary
Hanuman’s contemplation expands from the personal and familial to the sociopolitical realm. He realizes that the fall of the righteous (dharmiṣṭhe) Ikshvaku dynasty implies orphaned subjects (prajā). In the Dharmic worldview, the King is the upholder of order; without the righteous lineage of Rama, the subjects would be plunged into chaos and sorrow. This verse highlights Hanuman's expansive vision—he sees his potential failure not just as a personal disgrace, but as a catalyst for a humanitarian crisis involving the suffering of the common people.

हनुमान जी का चिंतन अब व्यक्तिगत और पारिवारिक स्तर से उठकर 'राष्ट्र' और 'प्रजा' के स्तर पर पहुँच गया है। राजा केवल एक व्यक्ति नहीं, बल्कि प्रजा का रक्षक और पिता तुल्य होता है। इक्ष्वाकु वंश धर्म का स्तंभ है। यदि यह वंश समाप्त हुआ, तो अराजकता फैलेगी और प्रजा अनाथ हो जाएगी। हनुमान जी देख रहे हैं कि उनकी एक भूल (क्रोध) कैसे 'धर्म' और 'समाज' के पतन का कारण बन सकती है। यह एक सच्चे राजनेता और विचारवान दूत की दृष्टि है जो अपने कार्य को व्यापक संदर्भ में देखता है।
