तदहं भाग्यरहितो लुप्तधर्मार्थसंग्रहः ।
रोषदोषपरीतात्मा व्यक्तं लोकविनाशनः ।

tadahaṃ bhāgyarahito luptadharmārthasaṃgrahaḥ |
roṣadoṣaparītātmā vyaktaṃ lokavināśanaḥ ॥5-55-21॥
Translation
Therefore, I am devoid of fortune, and my accumulation of Dharma (righteousness) and Artha (purpose) is lost. My mind is overwhelmed by the flaw of anger; clearly, I have become a destroyer of the worlds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अतः मैं भाग्यहीन हूँ, मेरे धर्म और अर्थ का संग्रह लुप्त हो गया है। रोष (क्रोध) रूपी दोष से मेरा मन घिरा हुआ है, और मैं स्पष्ट रूप से लोकों का विनाश करने वाला बन गया हूँ।
English Commentary
This verse represents the nadir of Hanuman's despair and self-reproach. He labels himself 'bhāgyarahito' (devoid of fortune), implying a loss of spiritual merit rather than just bad luck. He feels he has squandered both 'Dharma' (duty/righteousness) and 'Artha' (goal/purpose) by succumbing to rage. By calling himself 'lokavināśanaḥ' (destroyer of worlds), he acknowledges the catastrophic potential of power without restraint. He feels that instead of being a savior, his lack of control has turned him into an agent of destruction, negating all his previous austerities and service.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के आत्म-धिक्कार की पराकाष्ठा है। वे स्वयं को 'भाग्यरहित' कहते हैं, जिसका अर्थ केवल 'किस्मत खराब' होना नहीं, बल्कि पुण्य क्षीण होना है। उन्हें लगता है कि क्रोध के कारण उन्होंने अपने 'धर्म' (सीता की सेवा) और 'अर्थ' (राम का कार्य) दोनों को खो दिया है। 'लोकविनाशनः' शब्द का प्रयोग दिखाता है कि वे अपनी भूल को केवल एक व्यक्तिगत त्रुटि नहीं, बल्कि एक प्रलयकारी घटना मानते हैं। जब एक रक्षक (हनुमान) क्रोध में विवेक खो देता है, तो वह भक्षक बन जाता है; यह विचार उन्हें अंदर से तोड़ रहा है।
