अहो खलु कृतं कर्म दुष्करं हि हनूमता ।
अग्निं विसृजता ऽभीक्ष्णं भीमं राक्षसवेश्मनि ।

aho khalu kṛtaṃ karma duṣkaraṃ hi hanūmatā |
agniṃ visṛjatā 'bhīkṣṇaṃ bhīmaṃ rākṣasaveśmani ॥5-55-31॥
Translation
(The Charanas said) "Oh! Indeed, a very difficult feat has been performed by Hanuman, who has unleashed terrible fire intensely within the dwellings of the Rakshasas."
हिंदी अनुवाद
(चारण कह रहे थे) "अहो! निश्चय ही हनुमान ने अत्यंत दुष्कर (कठिन) कर्म किया है, जिन्होंने राक्षसों के घरों में भयानक अग्नि को बार-बार (या पूरी तरह) फैला दिया है।"
English Commentary
The Charanas express awe at Hanuman's deed. They describe the act as duṣkaraṃ (extremely difficult to accomplish). Setting the fortified city of Lanka ablaze single-handedly is a feat that surprises even the celestials. Their testimony serves two purposes: it glorifies Hanuman's valor for the audience (and future generations) and sets the stage for the contrast—that despite this "terrible fire" (bhīmaṃ agniṃ) destroying the Rakshasa dwellings, the miraculous survival of Sita (mentioned in the following verses) is even more astonishing.

यह चारणों का संवाद है। वे हनुमान जी के पराक्रम की प्रशंसा कर रहे हैं। 'दुष्करं कर्म' (करने में कठिन कार्य) - लंका जैसी सुरक्षित और मायावी नगरी को जलाना सामान्य वानर या देवता के वश की बात नहीं थी। चारण तटस्थ दृष्टा (Observers) हैं, उनकी गवाही निष्पक्ष है। वे आग की भयानकता ('भीमं अग्निं') का वर्णन कर रहे हैं, जो इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि विनाश व्यापक था, जिससे हनुमान जी का डरना स्वाभाविक था।
