Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ते प्रीताः पादपाग्रेषु गृह्य शाखाः सुविष्टिताः ।
वासांसीव प्रशाखाश्च समाविध्यन्त वानराः ।
।
॥५-५७-२७॥
Te prītāḥ pādapāgreṣu gṛhya śākhāḥ suviṣṭhitāḥ । Vāsāṃsīva praśākhāśca samāvidhyanta vānarāḥ । । ॥5-57-27॥
Translation
Those pleased monkeys stood on the tops of trees holding the branches, and they waved the twigs (and their garments) as if they were waving clothes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे प्रसन्न वानर वृक्षों की चोटियों पर चढ़कर और शाखाओं को पकड़कर, उन छोटी टहनियों (तथा अपने वस्त्रों) को वस्त्रों की भाँति घुमाने/फहराने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse describes a celebration akin to a ticker-tape parade or waving flags. Standing on treetops, the monkeys wave branches and whatever garments or furs they have. The comparison Vasamsiva (like clothes/garments) suggests a visual spectacle of fluttering movement meant to signal Hanuman from afar, letting him know he is seen and welcomed. It transforms the forest canopy into a living, waving sea of joyous friends.

स्वागत का एक अद्भुत प्रकार यहाँ वर्णित है। जैसे लोग झंडे या रुमाल हिलाकर किसी का स्वागत करते हैं, वैसे ही वानर वृक्षों पर चढ़कर टहनियों और वल्कल वस्त्रों को फहरा रहे हैं। 'समाविध्यन्त' (घुमाने लगे) शब्द उत्सव के माहौल को चित्रित करता है। यह सामूहिक खुशी का प्रदर्शन है, जहाँ प्रकृति (वृक्ष, शाखाएं) भी उनके उत्सव का साधन बन गई है।
