Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ग्रसमान इवाकाशं ताराधिपमिवोल्लिखन् ।
हरन्निव सनक्षत्रं गगनं सार्कमण्डलम् ।
।
॥५-५७-५॥
Grasamāna ivākāśaṃ tārādhipamivollikhan । Haranniva sanakṣatraṃ gaganaṃ sārkamaṇḍalam । । ॥5-57-5॥
Translation
He seemed to be swallowing the sky, scratching/touching the Moon, and carrying away the sky along with its stars and the solar orb.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे आकाश को निगलते हुए से, चंद्रमा (ताराधिप) को स्पर्श करते (घिसते) हुए से, और नक्षत्रों तथा सूर्य-मंडल सहित पूरे आकाश को हरते (चुराते/खींचते) हुए से प्रतीत हो रहे थे।
English Commentary
This verse conveys the overwhelming visual impact of Hanuman's flight. He is flying so fast and looks so massive that he creates three illusions: 1) He is consuming the space ahead of him (Grasamana), 2) He is flying high enough to scrape or touch the Moon (Tara-adhipam), and 3) He is dragging the entire firmament—stars, sun, and sky—along with him (Haranniva). It illustrates his dominance over the spatial dimensions.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के 'विराट रूप' और 'वेग' का वर्णन करता है। उनकी गति इतनी तेज है कि ऐसा लगता है वे आकाश को निगल (swallow) रहे हैं। वे इतनी ऊँचाई पर उड़ रहे हैं कि लगता है चंद्रमा को छू लेंगे (उल्लिखन्)। 'हरन्निव' (जैसे हरण कर रहे हों) का भाव यह है कि उनके वेग के कारण दृश्य इतनी तेजी से पीछे छूट रहे हैं मानो वे पूरे ब्रह्मांड को अपने साथ खींच कर ले जा रहे हों। यह अतिशयोक्ति अलंकार उनकी भव्यता को बढ़ाता है।
