Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मारुतस्यात्मजः श्रीमान् कपिर्व्योमचरो महान् ।
हनुमान् मेघजालानि विकर्षन्निव गच्छति ।

Mārutasyātmajaḥ śrīmān kapirvyomacaro mahān । Hanumān meghajālāni vikarṣanniva gacchati । । ॥5-57-6॥
Translation
The son of the Wind, the glorious, great monkey moving in the sky, Hanuman went along as if dragging clusters of clouds with him.

वायुपुत्र, श्रीमान (शोभायमान), आकाश में विचरने वाले महान वानर हनुमान, बादलों के समूहों को खींचते हुए से जा रहे थे।
English Commentary
Valmiki describes the physical interaction between the flying hero and the atmosphere. The phrase Meghajalani vikarshanniva suggests that Hanuman's velocity is creating a wake or a drag effect, pulling the clouds along with him. It gives a tangible sense of his speed and mass. The epithets—Son of Wind, Glorious, Great Sky-farer—reiterate his supernatural status and his natural command over the aerial domain.

एरोडायनामिक्स (Aerodynamics) का एक प्राचीन वर्णन यहाँ मिलता है। जब कोई बड़ी वस्तु तेज गति से हवा में चलती है, तो उसके पीछे वैक्यूम (vacuum) या खिंचाव बनता है। हनुमान जी के वेग के कारण बादल उनके पीछे-पीछे खिंचते चले आ रहे हैं (विकर्षन्निव)। उन्हें 'व्योमचर' (आकाश में चलने वाला) और 'श्रीमान' कहा गया है, जो उनकी दिव्य आभा और सौंदर्य को दर्शाता है।
