विविधाभ्रघनापन्नगोचरो धवलाम्बरः ।
दृश्यादृश्यतनुर्वीरस्तदा चन्द्रायते ऽम्बरे ।

॥५-५७-९॥
Vividhābhraghanāpannagocaro dhavalāmbaraḥ । Dṛśyādṛśyatanurvīrastadā candrāyate 'mbare । । ॥5-57-9॥
Translation
Moving among various dense clouds, clad in white (or surrounded by white clouds), with his body visible and invisible by turns, the hero acted like the Moon in the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विविध प्रकार के घने बादलों के बीच विचरण करते हुए, श्वेत वस्त्र धारी (या बादलों रूपी सफेद वस्त्र में लिपटे) हनुमान जी का शरीर कभी दिखता था और कभी नहीं। वे आकाश में चंद्रमा की तरह आचरण कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
The verb Chandrayate (behaving like the moon) is pivotal here. Whether strictly wearing white garments (Dhavalambara) or metaphorically clothed in the white clouds, Hanuman’s intermittent visibility creates a mesmerizing effect. The verse emphasizes the visual rhythm of his flight—now you see him, now you don't—mirroring the celestial dance of the moon amidst heavy cloud cover.
हिंदी टीका
पिछले श्लोक के भाव को ही यहाँ पुष्ट किया गया है। 'चन्द्रायते' एक सुंदर क्रियापद है जिसका अर्थ है 'चाँद जैसा आचरण करना'। हनुमान जी ने सफेद वस्त्र (धवलाम्बर) पहने हैं या सफेद बादल ही उनके वस्त्र बन गए हैं। उनका विशाल शरीर बादलों की ओट में कभी दिखता है, कभी ओझल हो जाता है। यह उनकी रहस्यमयी और दिव्य उपस्थिति को दर्शाता है।
