Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अथ मामब्रवीत् सीता गृह्यतामयमुत्तमः ।
मणिर्येन महाबाहू रामस्त्वां बहुमन्यते ।
।
॥५-५८-१०१॥
Atha māmabravīt sītā gṛhyatāmayamuttamaḥ । Maṇiryena mahābāhū rāmastvāṃ bahumanyate । । ॥5-58-101॥
Translation
Then Sita said to me: "Take this excellent jewel (gem), by (seeing) which the mighty-armed Rama will think highly of you."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब सीता ने मुझसे कहा— "इस उत्तम मणि (चूड़ामणि) को ग्रहण करो, जिसके कारण महाबाहु राम तुम्हें बहुत मान (सम्मान) देंगे।"
English Commentary
Sita produces the Choodamani (crest-jewel) as the token. She tells Hanuman that this jewel carries such significance that upon seeing it, Rama will not only recognize it but will hold Hanuman in high esteem (bahu-manyate). It implies that the jewel acts as a bridge of credibility; possessing it elevates Hanuman from a mere messenger to a trusted savior in Rama's eyes.
हिंदी टीका
सीता जी ने अपनी साड़ी के कोने में बंधा 'चूड़ामणि' निकालकर दिया। यह मणि राम और सीता के विवाह और प्रेम का प्रतीक है। सीता कहती हैं कि इसे देखकर राम हनुमान का 'बहुमान' करेंगे, अर्थात उन्हें यह विश्वास हो जाएगा कि हनुमान ने सचमुच सीता को खोज लिया है। यह मणि राम के लिए सीता के जीवित और सुरक्षित होने का भौतिक प्रमाण है।
