तच्छ्रुत्वा करुणं वाक्यं क्रोधो मामभ्यवर्तत ।
उत्तरं チ मया दृष्टं कार्यशेषमनन्तरम् ।
।
॥५-५८-१०७॥
Tacchrutvā karuṇaṃ vākyaṃ krodho māmabhyavartata । Uttaraṃ ca mayā dṛṣṭaṃ kāryaśeṣamanantaram । । ॥5-58-107॥
Translation
Hearing those sorrowful words, great anger overtook me. Then I considered what answer (action) remained to be done subsequently.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनके वे करुण वचन सुनकर मुझे बहुत क्रोध आया। तब मैंने यह विचार किया कि (सीता जी को आश्वासन देने के बाद) अब आगे और क्या कार्य शेष रह गया है।
English Commentary
Hanuman narrates his internal emotional state to the Vanaras. Hearing Sita's plight shifted his emotion from empathy to righteous anger against Ravana. The phrase "saw the answer" implies he realized that a verbal reply was insufficient; a physical demonstration of power was required. This marks the pivotal moment where Hanuman transitions from a spy/messenger into a warrior, deciding to leave a mark on Lanka before departing.

हनुमान जी अब अपनी कथा वानरों को सुना रहे हैं। सीता जी की दीन दशा देखकर एक भक्त और क्षत्रिय होने के नाते हनुमान जी को रावण पर क्रोध आना स्वाभाविक था। 'उत्तरं च मया दृष्टं' का अर्थ है कि उन्होंने रावण को एक 'उत्तर' देने का निर्णय लिया। यह उत्तर वाणी से नहीं, बल्कि पराक्रम से दिया जाना था। यहाँ हनुमान जी की भूमिका 'दूत' से बदल कर 'योद्धा' की हो रही है।
