तद्भग्नं वनषण्डं तु भ्रान्तत्रस्तमृगद्विजम् ।
प्रतिबुद्धा निरीक्षन्ते राक्षस्यो विकृताननाः ।

Tadbhagnaṃ vanaṣaṇḍaṃ tu bhrāntatrastamṛgadvijam । Pratibuddhā nirīkṣante rākṣasyo vikṛtānanāḥ । । ॥5-58-109॥
Translation
Seeing that forest grove broken and the animals and birds panic-stricken, those ugly-faced demonesses woke up and looked around.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस वन-खंड को टूटा हुआ और पशु-पक्षियों को भयभीत होकर इधर-उधर भागता देख, वे विकराल मुख वाली राक्षसियाँ जाग उठीं और देखने लगीं।
English Commentary
The tranquility of the Ashoka grove was shattered. The panic among the animals highlights the sheer scale of the disturbance Hanuman caused. The description of the rakshasis as vikritananah (ugly-faced) contrasts with the natural beauty of the garden they were guarding. Their awakening symbolizes the alerting of Lanka’s defenses. It sets the stage for the confrontation between the divine force of Hanuman and the demonic forces of Ravana.

अशोक वाटिका की शांति भंग हो चुकी थी। हनुमान जी के उत्पात से वहां के निर्दोष प्राणी (पशु-पक्षी) भी भयभीत थे, जो युद्ध की विभीषिका का संकेत है। राक्षसियों का 'विकृतानना' (भयंकर मुख वाली) विशेषण उनके क्रूर स्वभाव और शारीरिक बनावट को दर्शाता है। उनकी नींद का खुलना लंका में आने वाले तूफान का संकेत है। यह दृश्य सौन्दर्य और विनाश के बीच का विरोधाभास प्रस्तुत करता है।
