ततः प्रहस्तस्य सुतं जम्बुमालिनमादिशत् ।
राक्षसैर्बहुभिः सार्धं घोररूपैर्भयानकैः ।

Tataḥ Prahastasya sutaṃ Jambumālinamādiśat । Rākṣasairbahubhiḥ sārdhaṃ ghorarūpairbhayānakaiḥ । । ॥5-58-117॥
Translation
Thereafter, Ravana ordered Prahasta’s son, Jambumalin, to attack. He set forth accompanied by many terrifying demons of dreadful appearance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तत्पश्चात रावण ने प्रहस्त के पुत्र जम्बुमाली को आदेश दिया। वह घोर रूप वाले और भयानक अनेक राक्षसों के साथ (युद्ध के लिए) निकला।
English Commentary
This verse marks an escalation in the conflict. After the initial waves of demons were destroyed, Ravana dispatched Jambumalin, the son of his chief commander Prahasta. The description of the accompanying demons as having 'dreadful forms' indicates Ravana's intent to intimidate the intruder through sheer horror and numbers. Hanuman recounts this to the Vanaras to highlight the caliber of opponents he faced. It sets the stage for a duel between a lone Vanara and a heavily armed, elite demon contingent.

यह श्लोक रावण की बढ़ती हुई चिंता और क्रोध को दर्शाता है। किंकरों के वध के बाद, रावण ने अपने सेनापति प्रहस्त के पुत्र जम्बुमाली को भेजा। जम्बुमाली एक महारथी था और उसके साथ भेजी गई सेना 'घोररूप' और 'भयानक' थी, जिसका उद्देश्य केवल हनुमान को हराना नहीं, बल्कि भयभीत करना भी था। हनुमान जी यहाँ अपनी विजय यात्रा का वर्णन वानरों को सुना रहे हैं, इसलिए वे शत्रु की शक्ति का यथार्थ चित्रण कर रहे हैं ताकि उनकी (हनुमान की) विजय का महत्व स्पष्ट हो सके। यह संघर्ष की तीव्रता में वृद्धि का संकेत है।
