मन्त्रिपुत्रान् हताञ्छ्रुत्वा समरे लघुविक्रमान् ।
पञ्च सेनाग्रगाञ्छूरान् प्रेषयमास रावणः ।

Mantriputrān hatāñchrutvā samare laghuvikramān । Pañca senāgragāñchūrān preṣayamāsa rāvaṇaḥ । । ॥5-58-121॥
Translation
Hearing that the ministers' sons were killed swiftly in battle, Ravana dispatched five heroic generals (leaders of the army).

युद्ध में मन्त्रिपुत्रों को शीघ्रता से मारे जाते सुनकर, रावण ने पाँच शूरवीर सेनानायकों (सेनाग्रगामी) को भेजा।
English Commentary
The escalation continues. The term 'Laghuvikraman' likely refers to the swift prowess displayed by Hanuman in neutralizing the previous threats. Ravana, realizing the gravity of the situation, now deploys his seasoned veterans—the five 'Senagragas' (Generals). Unlike the impulsive younger generation, these were experienced commanders. This narrative sequence illustrates the systematic dismantling of Lanka's military hierarchy, layer by layer, by a single Vanara.

'लघुविक्रमान' शब्द यहाँ हनुमान के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ है (जिसका पराक्रम शीघ्र परिणाम देता है) या मन्त्रिपुत्रों के लिए (जिनका पराक्रम हनुमान के सामने तुच्छ पड़ गया)। संदर्भानुसार, यह हनुमान की फुर्ती को दर्शाता है कि उन्होंने कितनी जल्दी युद्ध समाप्त कर दिया। इसके बाद रावण ने 'पाँच सेनाग्रगामी' (Virupaksha, Yupaksha, Durdhara, Praghasa, Bhasakarna) भेजे। ये लंका के अनुभवी जनरल थे। रावण अब युवा पीढ़ी (पुत्रों) के बाद अनुभवी युद्ध-विशारदों को मैदान में उतार रहा है।
