Despite Aksha's aerial maneuvering ('flew into the sky'), Hanuman intercepted him, grabbing his legs—a move that rendered Aksha's weapons (sword and shield) useless. Spinning him rapidly was a tactic to disorient and generate lethal force before impact. यह श्लोक अक्षम कुमार के वध का भयानक चित्र प्रस्तुत करता है। अक्ष आकाश युद्ध में निपुण था, लेकिन हनुमान ने उसे उसी के क्षेत्र (आकाश) में जाकर पैरों से पकड़ लिया। उसे 'शतगुणं भ्रामयित्वा' (सौ बार घुमाना) सेंट्रीफ्यूगल फोर्स (अपकेन्द्र बल) का उपयोग करके निष्क्रिय करने की तकनीक है। 'व्यपेषयम्' का अर्थ है पूरी तरह पीस देना या कुचल देना। अंत में रावण की प्रतिक्रिया का संकेत है—पुत्र की मृत्यु का समाचार सुनकर रावण को गहरा आघात लगा।
