महतापि महाबाहुः प्रत्ययेन महाबलः ।
प्रेषितो रावणेनैव सह वीरैर्मदोत्कटैः ।
।
॥५-५८-१२७॥
Mahatāpi mahābāhuḥ pratyayena mahābalaḥ । Preṣito rāvaṇenaiva saha vīrairmadotkaṭaiḥ । । ॥5-58-127॥
Translation
That mighty-armed and powerful warrior had been sent by Ravana with great confidence, accompanied by arrogance-filled heroes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह महाबाहु और महाबली (इन्द्रजीत) बड़े विश्वास के साथ, मदोन्मत्त वीरों के साथ रावण द्वारा भेजा गया था।
English Commentary
This verse reiterates the expectations placed on Indrajit. Ravana sent him with 'Mahata Pratyayena' (great conviction/trust), believing the battle would end swiftly. The accompanying soldiers were equally arrogant ('Madotkataih'). By recalling this, Hanuman highlights the contrast between their initial overconfidence and the desperate measure Indrajit was eventually forced to take (the Brahmastra). It underscores that the capture was not easy, but a result of exhaustion of all other options.
हिंदी टीका
हनुमान जी यहाँ बता रहे हैं कि इन्द्रजीत का आना कोई साधारण घटना नहीं थी। रावण को 'महता प्रत्ययेन' (बड़े विश्वास) के साथ उम्मीद थी कि इन्द्रजीत इस वानर को पकड़ लेगा या मार डालेगा। लेकिन जब इन्द्रजीत के सामान्य प्रयास विफल हो गए, तो यह रावण के विश्वास और इन्द्रजीत के अहंकार ('मदोत्कटैः') दोनों पर प्रहार था। यह श्लोक अगले श्लोक की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार करता है जहाँ इन्द्रजीत को विवश होकर ब्रह्मास्त्र का प्रयोग करना पड़ा।
