वसतो ऋश्यमूके मे पर्वते विपुलद्रुमे ।
राघवो रणविक्रान्तो मित्रत्वं समुपागतः ।

Vasato ṛśyamūke me parvate vipuladrume । Rāghavo raṇavikrānto mitratvaṃ samupāgataḥ । । ॥5-58-135॥
Translation
(Sugriva's message): "While I was residing on Mount Rishyamuka, which abounds in dense trees, Raghava (Rama), who is mighty in battle, approached me in friendship."

(सुग्रीव का संदेश): "घने वृक्षों वाले ऋष्यमूक पर्वत पर निवास करते समय, युद्ध में पराक्रमी राघव (राम) मेरे साथ मित्रता को प्राप्त हुए।"
English Commentary
Hanuman narrates the message in the first person, representing Sugriva. He contextualizes the alliance, explaining that it formed while Sugriva was in exile on Mount Rishyamuka. The descriptor "Ranavikranta" (valorous in battle) for Rama is not incidental; it is a calculated detail to inform Ravana that his opponent is a seasoned warrior, not a mere forest hermit.
