तेन मे कथितं राज्ञा भार्या मे रक्षसा हृता ।
तत्र साहाय्यमस्माकं कार्यं सर्वात्मना त्वया ।

Tena me kathitaṃ rājñā bhāryā me rakṣasā hṛtā । Tatra sāhāyyamasmākaṃ kāryaṃ sarvātmanā tvayā । । ॥5-58-136॥
Translation
"That King (Rama) told me, 'My wife has been stolen by a demon. In this matter, you must render me assistance with all your heart/soul.'"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"उस राजा (राम) ने मुझसे कहा कि 'मेरी पत्नी को एक राक्षस ने हर लिया है। उस विषय में तुम्हें (सुग्रीव को) मेरी पूरी तरह से सहायता करनी चाहिए'।"
English Commentary
Sugriva's message continues, recounting Rama's plea. The phrase "Rakshasa Hrita" (stolen by a demon) highlights the origin of the conflict. Rama demanded help "Sarvatmana" (wholeheartedly). This verse clarifies the casus belli: the Vanara army is mobilized specifically to redress the grievance of Sita's abduction. It signals to Ravana that the entire Vanara race is now committed to this cause by a solemn pact, making the conflict unavoidable unless restitution is made.

यहाँ सुग्रीव रावण को बता रहे हैं कि राम ने उनसे सहायता क्यों मांगी। 'रक्षसा हृता' (राक्षस द्वारा हरी गई)—यहाँ नाम नहीं लिया गया, जो राम की पीड़ा और अनभिज्ञता (उस समय की) को दर्शाता है। राम ने सुग्रीव से 'सर्वात्मना' (पूरे मन/आत्मा से) सहायता मांगी थी। यह श्लोक यह स्पष्ट करता है कि सुग्रीव का इस युद्ध में शामिल होना केवल मित्रता के कारण है, और उनका रावण से कोई व्यक्तिगत बैर नहीं था, जब तक कि रावण ने राम की पत्नी का हरण नहीं किया।
