श्रुत्वा नगानां चरितं महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः ।
चिच्छेद भगवान् पक्षान् वज्रेणैषां सहस्रशः ।

Śrutvā nagānāṃ caritaṃ mahendraḥ pākaśāsanaḥ । Ciccheda bhagavān pakṣān vajreṇaiṣāṃ sahasraśaḥ । । ॥5-58-15॥
Translation
'Hearing of this conduct of the mountains, Lord Mahendra (Indra), the subduer of Paka, severed the wings of thousands of them with his thunderbolt.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
पर्वतों के इस आचरण के बारे में सुनकर, भगवान इंद्र (पाकशासन) ने अपने वज्र से हजारों पर्वतों के पंख काट डाले।
English Commentary
The narrative continues with Indra's intervention to restore order. Indra, titled here as Pakashasana (Destroyer of the demon Paka), took drastic action by amputating the wings of the mountains using his Vajra (thunderbolt). This verse highlights the peril Mainaka faced—a divine wrath that destroyed the mobility of his kin. It emphasizes the severity of the situation from which he was saved.

इंद्र का कार्य यहाँ व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के रूप में दिखाया गया है। जब पर्वतों ने अराजकता फैलाई, तो इंद्र ने अपने वज्र का प्रयोग किया। 'पाकशासन' इंद्र का एक नाम है (पाक नामक दैत्य का दमन करने वाला), जो उनकी शक्ति को दर्शाता है। मैनाक यह बता रहे हैं कि उस समय पर्वतों पर कितना भारी संकट आया था, जिससे बचने का कोई उपाय नहीं था।
