राक्षसाः सिद्धसन्नाहास्ततस्ते चण्डविक्रमाः ।
तदा ऽदह्यन्त मे पुच्छं निघ्नन्तः काष्ठमुष्टिभिः ।
बद्धस्य बहुभिः पाशैर्यन्त्रितस्य च राक्षसैः ।

Rākṣasāḥ siddhasannāhāstataste caṇḍavikramāḥ . Tadā 'dahyanta me pucchaṃ nighnantaḥ kāṣṭhamuṣṭibhiḥ . Baddhasya bahubhiḥ pāśairyantritasya ca rākṣasaiḥ .. 5.58.151 .. ॥5-58-151॥
Translation
Then those fierce and powerful demons, having made preparations, set my tail on fire. While I was bound by many ropes and restrained, they struck me with sticks and fists.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उन प्रचंड पराक्रमी राक्षसों ने पूरी तैयारी करके मेरी पूंछ में आग लगा दी। अनेक रस्सियों और पाशों में जकड़े हुए मुझ पर वे लकड़ियों और मुक्कों से प्रहार करने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the physical abuse Hanuman endured. Despite being "Chanda-vikrama" (fierce/powerful) themselves, the demons acted cowardly by beating a bound captive with sticks and fists while lighting him on fire. Hanuman describes himself as "Yantritasya" (restrained/controlled), yet this restraint was voluntary. He tolerated the blows and the burning to execute his plan of being paraded through the city. It exemplifies the virtue of Titiksha (forbearance) in service of a higher cause.

यह हनुमान जी की सहनशक्ति (तितिक्षा) का चरम उदाहरण है। यद्यपि वे उन रस्सियों को तोड़ने और राक्षसों को मारने में सक्षम थे (जैसा उन्होंने बाद में किया), उन्होंने 'काष्ठमुष्टिभिः' (लकड़ियों और मुक्कों) की मार सहना स्वीकार किया। वे 'यन्त्रित' (बंधे हुए) थे, फिर भी उनका मन स्वतंत्र और योजनाबद्ध था। यह दर्शाता है कि एक महान लक्ष्य (राम का कार्य) के लिए व्यक्तिगत अपमान और शारीरिक कष्ट को कैसे सहा जाता है। यह उनकी मानसिक दृढ़ता का प्रमाण है।
