आयसं परिघं गृह्य तानि रक्षांस्यसूदयम् ।

Āyasaṃ parighaṃ gṛhya tāni rakṣāṃsyasūdayam . Tatastannagaradvāraṃ vegenāplutavānaham .. 5.58.154 .. ॥5-58-154॥
Translation
Seizing an iron club (bar), I destroyed those demons. Then, I leapt with speed onto the city gate.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(द्वार पर रखी) एक लोहे की परिघ (छड़/गदा) को उठाकर मैंने उन राक्षसों का संहार कर दिया। उसके पश्चात मैं वेग से नगर के द्वार पर कूद गया (चढ़ गया)।
English Commentary
Upon freeing himself, Hanuman immediately seized the initiative. He grabbed an iron bar used for securing the gates and decimated his guards. This shows his resourcefulness—turning the enemy's infrastructure into a weapon. Climbing to the top of the city gate ("Nagara-dvaram") gave him the high ground. From this elevated position, he was no longer a prisoner but a dominator, ready to unleash chaos upon the city that tried to humiliate him.

बंधन मुक्त होते ही हनुमान जी ने आक्रमण शुरू कर दिया। उन्होंने किसी शस्त्र की प्रतीक्षा नहीं की, बल्कि पास पड़ी लोहे की परिघ (द्वार बंद करने वाली भारी छड़) को ही हथियार बना लिया। 'असूदयम्' शब्द राक्षसों के त्वरित विनाश को दर्शाता है। इसके बाद वे नगर के ऊंचे द्वार (गोपुर) पर चढ़ गए, जो एक रणनीतिक स्थान (Vantage point) था। यहाँ से वे पूरी लंका को देख सकते थे और अपनी अगली योजना—दहन—को अंजाम दे सकते थे।
