Translation
Thus filled with grief, I became immersed in deep anxiety/thought.

इस प्रकार शोक से युक्त होकर मैं गहरी चिंता में पड़ गया।
English Commentary
Hanuman enters a state of deep despondency ("Shoka-samavishta"). This pause in the narrative serves to heighten the dramatic tension. The hero is physically unharmed but mentally tormented by the possibility of failure. It shows that for Hanuman, the definition of success is strictly tied to Sita's well-being. Without her safety, his burning of the enemy city feels like a defeat.

यह एक संक्रमण काल (Transitional moment) है। हनुमान जी जो कुछ क्षण पहले लंका के विनाशक थे, अब शोक के सागर में डूबे हैं। 'शोकसमाविष्ट:' का अर्थ है शोक ने उन्हें पूरी तरह घेर लिया। वे सोचने लगे कि अब वे राम को क्या मुख दिखाएंगे? क्या उन्हें वहीं प्राण त्याग देने चाहिए? यह श्लोक दिखाता है कि मन की स्थिति कितनी चंचल होती है—विजय का उल्लास क्षण भर में विषाद में बदल सकता है।
