दीप्यमाने तु लाङ्गूले न मां दहति पावकः ।
हृदयं च प्रहृष्टं मे वाताः सुरभिगन्धिनः ।

Dīpyamāne tu lāṅgūle na māṃ dahati pāvakaḥ . Hṛdayaṃ ca prahṛṣṭaṃ me vātāḥ surabhigandhinaḥ .. 5.58.161 .. ॥5-58-161॥
Translation
(I reflected) Though my tail is blazing, the fire does not burn me. My heart is delighted, and the winds are fragrant.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(मैंने सोचा) पूंछ के जलते रहने पर भी अग्नि मुझे नहीं जला रही है, मेरा हृदय प्रसन्न है और वायु सुगंधित चल रही है (अतः सीता सुरक्षित हैं)।
English Commentary
Hanuman deduces Sita’s safety through his own physical experience. The fire on his tail feels cool, not painful. He reasons that if the fire spares him—the mere messenger—it would certainly not dare touch the source of all virtue, Sita. The "delighted heart" and "fragrant winds" are classic omens in Sanskrit epics indicating a positive outcome. This verse connects Hanuman's physical sensation directly to Sita’s spiritual power protecting him.

हनुमान जी प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण (Direct evidence) देखते हैं। उनकी पूंछ पर आग लगी है, पर उन्हें जलन नहीं हो रही, बल्कि शीतलता अनुभव हो रही है। यह सीता जी की प्रार्थना (सीतो भव हनुमतः) का प्रभाव था। साथ ही, 'हृदयं प्रहृष्टं' (हृदय की प्रसन्नता) और 'सुगंधित वायु' शुभ संकेत हैं। हनुमान जी ने निष्कर्ष निकाला कि यदि अग्नि उनके प्रति दयालु है, तो वह निश्चय ही सीता जी के प्रति भी सौम्य होगी।
